Fetch times two

Before giving your dog a treat or throwing a ball, ask them to do a command or string of commands they already know. It works their brain; and, the pride they’ll feel when they get it right will make them feel good too!

Teething terrors

Teething puppy destroying everything? Knot and wet a tube sock and freeze it. The cold will soothe their gums while giving them something enriching to chew on that also helps those loose teeth come out.
Try different textured toys, your pup will find one that they enjoy the most.
*Always supervise as strings from the socks or rope toys can cause injury.

Here is some ideas

Is your dog a chewer eating you out of house and home? Literally? Deer antlers and marrow bones are great because your dog has to figure out how to get the marrow out of the middle while not chewing your shoes or furniture*

• Be sure to supervise while providing this enriching treat!


• Try some mind games. Hide treats in a snuffle mat and let them find them. This works their nose and makes them think.
  
  
• Purchase puzzle games.
  
  
• For added exercise make a Flirt Pole. They will get a physical and mental workout. Great for hot days!

• Use a 12 cup cupcake pan, hide kibble in 6 of them and cover all cups with tennis balls. Great mental stimulation and you can play with the tennis balls with them when they find all the kibble.


• Keep your chewer on a leash and redirect them every time they start to chew or mouth you with a toy they enjoy. Praise them every time. They will eventually put two and two together.

The key is to work their minds to make them think. Even practicing your basic obedience for 15 mins can mentally work your dogs mind to think clearer.
